WHEN THE DARKNESS WILL NOT LIFT – JOHN PIPER This has been a difficult year Lord with my marriage in the beginning of the year struggling then growing, with Trinity falsely accused of assault in teen court but charges for that dropped, with Jimmy losing his job but starting his own business looking for full time work, with my brother and I losing our close relationship over choices we had to make for the benefit of our own families, with Josh ticketed for breaking curfew and awaiting trial, with me losing my job but blessed to be a help meet to Jimmy right now, with Sean leaving for Naval boot camp but graduating mid October, with Cindy leaving for the Philippines and to go to school in Victorville to make a positive life change. How do I give to God’s work?

9/28/10Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21. A treasure of my heart I give time to is sitting here in the morning hours, in the word, in prayer, watching the birds fly about, the tree sway in the breeze, the sun shine against the pale blue sky. A treasure of my heart I give love, honor, and cherishing to is falling asleep next to my husband for the last 19 years. A treasure of my heart I give prayer to is my son Sean saying he is reading the word. A treasure of my heart I give my tithe to is so that my son Josh can step away from friends at camp and step forward in worship. A treasure of my heart that shares so many of my talents is my daughter Trinity desiring to make a change in her life and stepping out to go where You call her to. A treasure of my heart that supports the spreading of the gospel is my daughter Cindy returning from the Philippines where she saw God's hand work in the lives of those with far less than us. How do I wait on God?

9/24/10 Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for Him to act. Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. Stop being angry! Turn from your rage! Do not lose your temper-it only leads to harm. For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land. Psalm 37:7-9. Lord I fail to be still. I scurry about trying to fix it in my own way and then I bring the broken pieces to You to ask You to fix it instead of waiting. When I bring to mind the wicked schemes by the evil people against me I do have anger, rage and I lose my temper. Forgive me Lord when I harm others with my words that burden their souls. 9/22/10So there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. Romans8:1. Thank You Lord there is no condemnation for me now that I am in You. I know that doesn't mean I won't be excluded, hated, mocked, or cursed because the world condemned You I know I too will at times be condemned. But when I am persecuted and rejected for who I am in You, I have peace knowing there is no condemnation the world can give that will ever separate You from me. How can I survive financial problems?

9/3/10How can I survive financial problems? Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or to have everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength. Philippians 4:11-13. Even though I may have felt I was in need, I have always had enough. I have learned to be content because I have learned that things come and go but my Lord never leaves or forsakes me and is what I have no matter what. Lord You know that my heart is to right by You. I don't have the strength to make it through this day without You. As financial problems overshadow, protect my marriage from bitterness, protect my kids from worry, and provide the way for us to have just enough to satisfy our needs to not deny You in riches or steal in poverty. 9/2/10How can I handle suffering? So then, since Christ suffered physical pain, you must arm yourselves with the same attitude He had, and be ready to suffer, too. For if you have suffered physically with Christ, you have finished with sin. You won't spend the rest of your lives chasing your own desires, but you will be anxious to do His will. 1 Peter4:1-2. Lord I don't think You ask us to approach the day looking for how we might suffer but inevitably suffering finds us and You ask us to be ready. Be in the word to know what You want to say to comfort. Be in prayer to ask in Your name for the things I need and want. Be using my time to do Your will. Be tithing to Your ministry. Be using my talent to share You. I am so anxious to do Your will today, help me not fall back into sin or frantically chase what's for me. How can I face serious illness?

9/1/10How can I face serious illness? He personally carried our sins in His body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By His wounds you are healed. 1 Peter 2:24. I don't understand the purpose for serious illness except that somehow through it You give us the ability to live right in the sight of others which gives glory to You. This doesn't make it any less painful, less exhausting, or less depressing. You suffered pain as You were beaten, scourged, and crowned with thorns. You were exhausted as you carried Your cross to Your crucifixion. You faced oppression and didn't become depressed but said, "Father forgive they don't know what they are doing." Thank You that serious illness here doesn't change my eternal healing of salvation because You have healed my most serious illness of sin Thank You. http://chastityhead4God.blogspot.com
